Kanybek, the driver for our Song-Kul weekend, dropped us off at a mini-mart in Kochkor to stock up on snacks and water while he filled up the car with gas to prepare for the rest of the drive (there are no mini-marts or gas stations in Song-Kul). While waiting ten minutes or so for him to return to pick us up, I took pictures of the cars that passed by us on the town’s main road.
I sensed a pattern of my beloved old Soviet cars (mostly Lada and Moskvich), which Kochkor seems to have in abundance compared to the flashy BMWs of Bishkek.

Ahh, two of my favorite things: Ladas and Kochkor!
