Just a quick post to say that I’m finally not pregnant anymore! Darwin Elliott was born on December 29th at 2:55am, 10 lbs 2 oz (4.6 kg), 21 inches (53.3 cm), and a (giant) head of dark hair. He decided to wait 16 days past his due date, giving him plenty of time to grow to that monstrous weight. Major props to my midwives, husband and mom for helping to make the home birth a success.
Things will continue to be quiet on the blog for a few weeks while Farrell and I adjust to life with Darwin. We’ll head out to Colorado to visit Farrell’s side of the family and then head back to Bishkek at the end of January.
Happy New Year!
Congratulations to you and Farrell on Darwin’s birth! He has the same birthday as my daughter.
May his life be filled with much love and happiness!
Congratulations on your healthy child. I”ve enjoyed reading your blog very much, it’s helped me a bit in understanding Kyrgyzstan.
It seems like you chose a good mid-winter to miss in Bishkek, freezing weather, not enough heat, gas, etc.
Best regards.
Congrats!
Congratulations — and, welcome to the world, Darwin!
