The world didn’t end, so I therefore survived to celebrate my 23rd birthday yesterday. I spent the day lounging, watching reruns of House Hunters International on Youtube (research, of course, for my upcoming episode), and baking cupcakes for an utterly over-sized group birthday party last night.
I’m quite happy with how my day went! I don’t think I’ve ever managed to be abroad for my birthday, but all of my new friends here and old friends back home still sent plenty of love my way. It was quite nice.
So what does life-as-a-23-year-old hold for me? Well, as I’ve been obsessively blogging about, there’s my 15 minutes of fame on faux-reality TV, which is allowing me a quick 10-day trip back to the states. I’m looking forward to catching up with people I haven’t seen since last year, since college, since high school, and everybody in between.
I’m possibly heading to Dubai in June/July for a month-long photography internship.
Or, depending on how the results swing, I could be suddenly launched into the rapid development of my company here, Oxus International. Scary! Exciting! Busy!
And that’s only in the short-term. I have no idea what this year holds for me past July, but I’m guessing it will be pretty awesome.
